Beyond Code, Into the Cosmos

Turning Ancient Knowledge Into Living Worlds

Vipul Shah is turning fifteen years of inquiry into a nine-part fantasy saga that transcends beyond the traditional realms of fantasy, mythology and spirituality and turning the three into one of its kind contemporary stories, while building tools and opportunities for a new generation of storytellers.

Technology taught Vipul Shah to think in systems. Ancient texts made him curious about the largest system of all: the universe.

For more than fifteen years, alongside his career in technology, Shah has explored possible connections between modern scientific cosmology and the cosmic architecture described in ancient texts. Beginning with Jainism, his inquiry expanded across faith traditions, examining similarities in the ways different cultures have imagined the structure of the cosmos, humanity’s place within it, and the questions that emerge when science meets belief. Those questions eventually became the foundation for his fiction.

The result is The Jambudveep Series, a planned nine-part epic saga. Its first two volumes, Bharat Kshetra – The Hidden Matrix and Arya Khand – The First Awakening, are already published. In 2026, the debut reached No. 1 on an Amazon Hot New Releases list and No. 3 on a fiction category bestseller list.

What interests us at NU Voice Press is Shah’s choice of form. He could have approached these ideas purely through research or nonfiction. Instead, he chose the long arc of fantasy. Fantasy gives readers a reason to stay with unfamiliar ideas. Shah weaves his research and episodes from his own real-life adventures into a contemporary epic, allowing ancient thought to enter the reader’s world through characters, conflict, discovery and momentum.

That, to me, is where the project becomes particularly interesting. The series is not simply attempting to recreate an ancient worldview. It is asking what happens when those ideas are carried into the imagination of a contemporary reader.

He is now applying his technical experience to the mechanics of storytelling as well, to help adapt novels into videos, trailers, comics and graphic novels, alongside proofreading and editing at word and line level. It brings the possibilities of visual storytelling closer to authors working from a manuscript.

The tool will launch through Arya Digital Studios. The venture also has a practical social purpose: training young people from underprivileged backgrounds and giving them opportunities to gain industry experience in creative technology. This is an important extension of Shah’s larger approach. For him, technology should become infrastructure for creativity, learning and access.

That emphasis on developing human capability extends to Shah’s school talks and TEDx appearance.

His message to young audiences is direct: “Let AI do the work for your brain, not the work of your brain.”

The distinction places judgement, imagination and authorship with the person using the tool, rather than allowing technology to replace the thinking that gives creative work its meaning. From a publishing perspective, I find that distinction particularly relevant. We are entering a period in which authors have more tools than ever before, but tools alone do not create stories worth remembering.

Shah hopes to bring the entire Jambudveep saga to the big screen. For us, its promise begins much earlier, with the reader who arrives for an adventure and leaves curious enough to open an ancient text, question a familiar idea or look at the universe from a slightly different angle.

That is where literature can do something technology cannot do on its own. It can make a question personal.

How To Retain Your Distinct Voice In The Age Of AI

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) transforms how young people learn and communicate, the greater challenge may be preserving independent thought

A few weeks ago, after a school interaction, I found myself sitting with students long after the formal session had ended. We were under a gazebo in the school garden, discussing careers, failure, writing, ambition and artificial intelligence. One question stayed with me: will AI make learning easier, or make people dependent on easy answers?

Young people today are not afraid of technology. They have grown up with it. Their concern is more subtle. The challenge is no longer whether AI can produce an answer, but whether we will continue to think deeply before asking for one.

AI IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR THOUGHT

For generations, access to knowledge created an advantage. Better books, teachers and institutions could provide a headstart. AI is changing that equation. A student in a small town can now explore subjects ranging from coding and literature to complex scientific concepts with a few prompts. Used thoughtfully, this can democratise learning in ways few technologies have managed before.

But convenience also carries a risk. When answers become effortless, questions can become weaker. When writing can be polished instantly, an individual’s unfinished thoughts may begin to feel inadequate. Over time, the danger is the gradual outsourcing of judgement and originality.

AI should therefore be treated as an assistant, not a substitute for thinking. It can provide options, challenge assumptions, identify gaps and accelerate learning. But the first instinct should still be human: What do I think? What do I believe?

PROTECTING THE ROUGH FIRST IDEA

A distinct voice is much more than writing style. It is shaped by experience, failure, relationships, beliefs, uncertainty and curiosity. AI can produce a polished sentence, but it cannot replicate the lived experiences that give an individual’s ideas meaning. That is why young people should protect their imperfect thoughts. The rough first idea is often where original thinking begins.

My professional life has been rooted in technology leadership, but I continue to spend time with children and young adults because their curiosity reminds me what learning should feel like. They ask questions without always worrying about whether those questions sound intelligent.

Schools should therefore teach more than how to use AI tools. Students also need to learn how to question AI-generated answers, examine assumptions and form their own perspective before seeking technological assistance. AI will make information increasingly accessible. Originality, judgement and courage, however, will remain qualities that individuals must develop themselves. The goal of education should not be to produce faster answers, but deeper thinkers.

In an age when machines can increasingly provide the words, perhaps the most important skill is knowing what is worth saying.

Bharat Kshetra: The Hidden Matrix– A New Indian Mythological Thriller Redefining Cosmic Storytelling

In the ever-expanding realm of Epic fantasy – speculative fiction, a compelling new voice is stepping forward with both conviction and clarity. With Bharat Kshetra: The Hidden Matrix, debut author Vipul Shah crafts a sweeping narrative that blends ancient cosmology, modern reality, and conspiracy-scale storytelling into a universe that feels as vast as it is intimate. Often seen as taking inspiration from the expansive storytelling of Amish Tripathi, Shah’s work moves beyond reinterpretation and instead builds an entirely original mythic framework, one where ancient concepts are not relics of the past but active, hidden forces shaping the present.

At the heart of the novel lies a striking idea: what if reality itself is structured, regulated, and partially concealed? Drawing deeply from Jain cosmology and the concept of Jambudveep, Shah introduces a hidden matrix that is an unseen architecture governing karma, balance, and existence. This is not mythology as ornament, but as a system. It breathes beneath the story, influencing every character, decision, and consequence.

Shah’s own life reflects a similar duality between structure and searching. A global digital transformation leader with over two decades of experience across retail, fintech, and AI-driven systems, he has spent years designing and managing complex technological frameworks. His journey to education and purpose was fueled by belief.

His lived experiences find their way into the emotional core of the novel, especially through the character of Pravash, a teenager whose life begins in familiarity but quickly fractures into something far larger. It is this grounding in reality that allows the narrative to soar without losing its human anchor.

The story unfolds through three central lives. Soham, a child born under extraordinary circumstances, is raised by a mysterious guide who moves fluidly across identities and philosophies. Tejomayi grows in secrecy, trained by ancient sages in a hidden hermitage, carrying within her a force that even unseen powers fear. Pravash, perhaps the most relatable of the three, begins as an ordinary boy navigating family, love, and identity until his world unravels, revealing a deeper truth beneath the surface.

Binding these lives is the presence of the Nine, a secret council embedded within modern systems of power. Their role is not domination but control that ensures that knowledge of hidden portals and cosmic structures remains suppressed, dismissed as myth or conspiracy. But something is shifting. The balance they have long maintained is beginning to weaken, and with it comes the emergence of forces that were never meant to return.

Entities like the destructive Ghraaks and the shadowy Raktans move at the edges of perception, signaling that the boundaries between worlds are no longer stable. As the hidden architecture begins to fracture, the story expands from quiet mystery into a full-scale cosmic conflict.

What sets Bharat Kshetra: The Hidden Matrix apart is its refusal to rely solely on spectacle. While it offers grand imagery like portals, ancient weapons, divine signals, it remains deeply rooted in emotion. Family rituals, first love, moral conflict, and spiritual doubt are woven seamlessly into the narrative, ensuring that even as the story explores vast metaphysical ideas, it remains profoundly human.

Shah’s background in systems thinking is evident in the precision of his world-building. Every layer of the universe feels interconnected, governed by logic rather than convenience. This lends the novel a sense of authenticity, as though the world it presents could exist just beyond the limits of perception.

As the first installment in The Jambudveep Series, the book lays the foundation for a much larger saga. It introduces not just characters and conflicts, but an entire cosmological framework that promises to unfold across multiple volumes. The scope is ambitious, yet carefully controlled, like a door opening slowly to reveal something vast waiting behind it.

With this debut, Vipul Shah positions himself not just as a storyteller, but as a thinker navigating the intersection of mythology, philosophy, and narrative design. Bharat Kshetra: The Hidden Matrix is not merely a novel to be read, it is a universe to be entered, where the familiar world begins to flicker, and the deeper structure of existence quietly comes into view.
